Pennsylvania
Birds, the
PSO's quarterly journal dedicated to bird distribution and occurence in
Pennsylvania, is included in PSO Memberships. It includes sightings for
each quarter on a county-by-county basis, rare bird reports, the CBC,
the NAMC, site guides, PA Birdlists, Hawk Migration Summaries, book reviews,
PORC reports, and articles of general interest ranging from the humorous
to the technical. Library/Institutional rates are also available (These
rates do not include the PSO Newsletter).

Information
One year's subscription includes 4 issues covering bird sightings from
December to November.
The first issue (containing reports for Dec-Feb) is mailed in May and
the last issue (containing reports from Aug-Nov) is mailed in February
of the following year.
New subscriptions received during the publishing year (late June through
March) receive all back issues for that year plus any remaining issues
for the current publishing year unless another year is specified.
The back issues are mailed with the next regular issue.

Bird sightings should
be sent to the County Compiler for the county in which the sightings were made. Be sure to include the
following: Species, Location, Number, Observer, Date. If the species requires documentation, be sure to include it.

We welcome submission of articles, artwork or photographs. Any materials
submitted must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope if
the author desires to have the material returned. Slides and/or negatives
are preferred and will be returned -- prints will not be returned. Articles
should be sent on IBM compatible disks when possible or via email (Word
Perfect preferred, but Microsoft Word or ASCII are also acceptable). PENNSYLVANIA
BIRDS assumes no liability or responsibility for any unsolicited materials.

The
report forms are available in word processing and spreadsheet formats.
The word processing formats are Adobe Acrobat (PDF) and Word Perfect (WPD).
These are for printing out and then filling in by hand and then mailing
them to Wendy Jo.
The
spreadsheet versions are available in Quattro Pro versions 8 (WB3) and
11 (QPW) and Microsoft Excel (XLS) formats. These are for filling in the
data on your computer and then emailing the spreadsheet to Wendy Jo.

toolbar (not your browser's toolbar) to print a copy of the form.

This
will save the file to your computer in a folder of your choice. Once it
is downloaded, go to the file on your computer and double-click on it.
Select a location to extract the files to in the "Unzip to folder"
box and then click on Unzip. The self-extracting zip file requires no
zip software on your computer. If you have zipware on your computer, you
can download the smaller "zip" file instead.
