This bird was found by the landowner, Sandy Powers.
It represents the 1st record for Franklin County.

These birds represent the 2nd record for Berks County.

This bird was originally found by the park ranger, Rachel Bishop.
This bird represents the 1st record for Chester County.

This group of ten birds was originally found on June 8th by two Bloomsburg University students, Tim Plisiewicz and Kevin Sutowski. The first identifiable photos were taken on June 10th by Clem McIntyre and eventually forwarded on to local birders.
These birds represent the 1st record for Luzerne County.

Tom Johnson found five birds at the Deer Valley Golf Course on June 30th. This photo shows three of the five birds in flight.
These birds represent the 1st record for Dauphin County.

This bird was captured in a Pennsylvania Game Commission duck trap, then photographed and banded.
There are very few records of them for Pennsylvania.

Note the black belly, white wing patch, red bill, and light eye ring on the gray face. All four birds are in this picture, although the fourth bird is hidden by the dead gray stems just below and in front of the tallest bird.
These birds represent the 1st record for Berks County. There are very few records of them for Pennsylvania.

There were eleven birds originally found there on June 8th that remained until June 22nd. This photo shows three of the birds. This was a year when this species was found in several neighboring states both to the north and south of Pennsylvania.
