2008

'Frigatebird species' --- Militia Hill Hawkwatch at Fort Washington State Park, Montgomery County; September 20, 2008. Photos by George Layne.
This adult male was seen passing by the hawkwatch at Fort Washington State Park two weeks after the passage of Tropical Storm Hanna. Note the distinctive wing and tail shape and the light-colored bill.
What was most likely the same bird was seen passing by the State Hill Hawk Watch in Berks County earlier that morning. This record was accepted as a 'frigatebird species' since the committee was unable to definitely determine it to be a Magnificent Frigatebird.

Here are three more photos of this adult male. Again, note the distinctive wing and tail shape.
