    Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks — Susquehanna Riverlands near Berwick, Luzerne County; June 12, 2010. Photo by Kevin Ripka.
    This group of ten birds was originally found on June 8th by two Bloomsburg University students, Tim Plisiewicz and Kevin Sutowski. The first identifiable photos were taken on June 10th by Clem McIntyre and eventually forwarded on to local birders. These birds represent the 1st record for Luzerne County.

    This bird was captured in a Pennsylvania Game Commission duck trap, then photographed and banded. There are very few records of them for Pennsylvania.

All four birds are in this picture, although the fourth bird is hidden by the dead gray stems just below and in front of the tallest bird. These birds represent the 1st record for Berks County. There are very few records of them for Pennsylvania.

    There were eleven birds originally found there on June 8th that remained until June 22nd. This photo shows three of the birds.
