Briar Creek Lake Park

DESCRIPTION: This 50-acre lake is worth checking for migrant waterfowl. In winter, it is a good place to find Northern Harrier, Rough-legged Hawk, and American Kestrel. In spring and fall: Sandhill Cranes. Summer - Eastern Meadowlark, Grasshopper Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow.

DIRECTIONS: From the US 11/PA 93 split at the west side of Berwick, go west on PA 93 for 0.9 mile and turn right (north) on North Eaton Street. Go 0.3 mile and turn left (west) on Freas Avenue. Go 0.3 mile and turn right (north) on Cemetery Road. Go 0.9 mile to the T and turn left (west) on Evansville Road and go 0.5 mile to the park entrance on the left. Other views of the lake are available by continuing west on Evansville Road anther 0.5 mile and turning left (south) on Lake Road. Then go 0.2 mile and turn left (east) on Park Road, which goes along the south side of the lake.
